Electrical Designing
Drawings that make the installation make sense
Before any cable is run, a well-designed system exists on paper: sized correctly, drawn clearly, and ready for approval. We produce load calculations, single-line diagrams and layouts for our own jobs and for other contractors.
What's included
Design deliverables we produce
- Load calculations and demand assessments
- Single-line diagrams (SLDs) for approvals and tenders
- Electrical layout drawings for architects and contractors
- Cable sizing and voltage drop calculations
- Panel schedules and distribution board layouts
- Solar system design and specification
Why it's worth doing properly
A design catches problems before they're built in
Undersized cable, an overloaded board or a panel in the wrong place is far cheaper to fix on a drawing than after installation. A proper design also gives you a reference document for every electrician who touches the system afterwards.
Common questions
Design FAQ
Do you design for other contractors to install?
Yes, a good number of our design work is for architects, developers and contractors who need drawings for approval or tender, with installation handled by their own team or by us.
Can you design a system to match an existing building?
Yes, we survey the existing installation before designing additions or upgrades, so the new work is compatible with what's already there rather than conflicting with it.
What do I receive at the end?
Depending on scope: a single-line diagram, load schedule, layout drawings and a written specification suitable for approval, tender or handover to an installer.
