CCTV installation in Nairobi: cameras you can check from your phone
A CCTV system only protects you if the cameras cover the right places, record long enough and can be viewed when you need them. We plan camera positions around your real entry points and set the system up for remote viewing.

Quick answer

We survey the site, plan camera coverage and recording storage, install the cabling and recorder, and configure remote access.

Why choose this service
Deterrence and evidence
Visible cameras discourage theft, and clear recordings help when you need to review an incident.
View from anywhere
Live view and playback on your phone, wherever you have internet access.
Coverage that makes sense
Camera positions are chosen around entry points and blind spots, not just spaced evenly.
Resilient to outages
We can add a UPS or solar backup so recording continues during power cuts.
Types and options
HD analogue (AHD / TVI / CVI)
Coaxial cable cameras connected to a DVR. Cost-effective and reliable, with good 2MP to 5MP picture quality. Easy to reuse existing coax.
Best for: Homes, shops and upgrades where cable already exists.
IP cameras (PoE)
Network cameras powered and connected over a single network cable to an NVR. Higher resolution options, smarter analytics and easier expansion.
Best for: Offices, estates, larger sites and new installations.
4G / solar cameras
Cameras with SIM connectivity and solar power for sites with no power or internet cabling.
Best for: Remote plots, construction sites and farms.
| Setup | Approx. data per day | Days on a 2 TB drive |
|---|---|---|
| 4 cameras, 1080p, H.264, continuous recording | ~86 GB | ~23 days |
| 4 cameras, 1080p, H.265, continuous recording | ~43 GB | ~46 days |
| 8 cameras, 1080p, H.265, continuous recording | ~86 GB | ~23 days |
Estimates assume about 2 Mbps per camera for H.264 and 1 Mbps for H.265. Real figures depend on scene activity and settings. Motion-only recording stretches storage further.
How we work
- 1
Site survey
We walk the site, identify entry points, blind spots and lighting, and agree what each camera must see.
- 2
Design and quote
You receive a camera plan, equipment list and itemised quotation, with storage sized to your retention needs.
- 3
Cabling and mounting
Cables are run in conduit or trunking and cameras are mounted at the right height and angle.
- 4
Recorder and network setup
The DVR or NVR is installed, drives fitted and remote access configured.
- 5
Testing and training
We check day and night images, motion alerts and remote viewing, then show you how to use the system.
What affects the price
- Number of cameras and resolution (2MP, 4MP, 8MP)
- Analogue versus IP system
- Hard drive capacity for the retention period you need
- Cable length, conduit and how difficult routing is
- Extras: audio, PTZ cameras, UPS backup, a monitor at the site
Price depends mainly on the number of cameras, the technology and the storage you need. We quote after a site survey so you pay for coverage you actually need.
Ask for a quoteFrequently asked questions
How many CCTV cameras do I need?
Count entry points first (gates, doors, windows at ground level), then add coverage for the perimeter, parking and any high-value areas. Most homes need 4 to 8 cameras. Our survey sets the exact number. See How to choose a CCTV system.
Can I watch my cameras on my phone?
Yes. We configure remote viewing so you can see live video and playback on your phone. It needs an internet connection at the site.
How long will the recorder keep footage?
It depends on the number of cameras, resolution, compression and hard drive size. Use the table above or read CCTV storage: how many days will it record?
Do cameras work at night?
Yes. Cameras use infrared night vision, and many models offer colour night vision with a small light. Typical infrared range is 20 to 30 metres, depending on the model.
What happens during a power cut?
Without backup, the system stops. A small UPS or a solar battery keeps cameras and recorder running through short and medium outages.
Should I choose analogue or IP cameras?
Analogue HD is cost-effective when coax cable exists or the budget is tight. IP cameras suit larger or growing sites and give higher resolution and flexibility. We recommend after seeing your site.
Do you maintain CCTV systems?
Yes. We can service existing systems: cleaning lenses, checking cabling and power, replacing drives and fixing recorder or remote access problems.
